This digital thermometer operates with infrared measurement techniques to determine the surface temperature of an object. The optical system of the device collects radiated energy, and focuses it to an IR detector. The electronics translates optical data into temperature values. To be sure the appropriate object is being measured and to increase accuracy a laser pointer is built-in.
